We’re celebrating back to school season with a fun and easy quilt project! Please join us right here on our Quilty Pleasures blog each day next week, Sept. 14 to 18, for a free quilt pattern delivered to you in easy to follow, bite-sized bits. This year’s quilt is titled Village Square and was designed by Melissa Corry. It makes a perfect scrap quilt and is a great design for using assorted lights, mediums and darks to really bust your fabric stash!

We also have a team of Back to School Party reader-quilters who will be sharing their own versions of the quilt to inspire you, plus plenty of tips and more fun surprises. We hope you will join us as we welcome the upcoming fall season and work on this quilt together.

We wanted to give you some time to gather your supplies before the party starts next week, so today we are sharing a diagram and yardage requirements for Village Square.

Each quilt block finishes at 16″.

This materials list is keyed to the gray-scale quilt diagram above. As I said above, this is a great stash-busting quilt. You can use assorted lights, mediums and darks, and keep in mind that you can reverse the light and dark values if you’d like.

Check back Monday, Sept. 14 as we kick off the Back to School Party. Throughout next week, we’ll be sharing daily doses of the quilt pattern, introducing you to this year’s fabulous team of Back to School reader-quilters (and sharing their amazing Village Square creations with you) plus plenty more inspiration, fun and surprises. See you at the party!

Happy Quilting,
Natalie
